  What is infertility? Infertility refers to the inability to conceive a child despite regular, unprotected sexual intercourse for a significant period, usually one year. It is a medical condition that affects both men and women and can be caused by various factors. In general, infertility is diagnosed when a couple fails to achieve pregnancy after actively trying for at least a year.
